
Barcelona, 5 November 2025 – On 4 November, during the plenary session of the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) in Barcelona, the MaaS Alliance celebrated the winners of the MaaS Star Awards, a new initiative recognising the organisations and individuals who have made a significant contribution to the Alliance’s work and to the broader mobility ecosystem.
The awards marked a key moment in the 10th anniversary year of the MaaS Alliance, as the organisation reflects on a decade of collaboration while looking ahead to its next chapter. With the mobility landscape evolving rapidly, the Alliance is redefining how it supports members and partners to deliver practical, deployable impact across the global ecosystem.
MaaS Star Awards 2025 winners
Top MaaS City Award – City of Torino
Top MaaS City Award – The City of Torino, with the technical support of 5T, has established itself as a pioneer in shaping an intelligent and interconnected urban mobility system. Their MaaS ToMove project, part of the national MaaSforItaly program, and other past initiatives bring together diverse transport operators, digital platforms, and data sources to create a truly user-centred experience in Turin. Through its commitment to openness, innovation, and collaboration with public and private stakeholders, Torino has positioned as Italy’s MaaS reference, demonstrating how cities can use technology and governance models to simplify travel, reduce emissions, and make mobility more efficient for all citizens.

MaaS City People’s Choice Award – EMT Madrid
EMT Madrid received overwhelming public recognition for its leadership in delivering inclusive, accessible, and digitally integrated mobility services. By connecting transport modes and services across the city through its Madrid Mobility 360 app, EMT Madrid is making everyday journeys more seamless for millions of users. Its digital wallet and CO2 emissions estimator helps users make more efficient and sustainable decisions. The public vote reflected not only the success of the initiative but also the trust and satisfaction of citizens who experience its benefits daily. EMT’s work exemplifies how MaaS can thrive when cities place users and sustainability at the centre of their strategy.

Best MaaS App Award – umob
Digital platforms play a vital role in making integrated mobility a reality. Umob stands out for its commitment to providing a unified digital gateway to urban and interurban transport options. Their app integrates multiple mobility providers, from public transport to micromobility and shared vehicles, under one intuitive interface. The app’s partnerships with major micromobility operators such as Lime, Dott, Bird, Bolt and Voi, together with municipal collaborations in cities like Rotterdam and Antwerp, illustrate its ambition to scale multimodal services. With over 500,000 vehicles already integrated and expansion underway into London, Paris and Barcelona, umob is simplifying mobility for users while supporting operators and public authorities with data insights, sustainability targets and new business models.

Rising MaaS Star Award – Rhein Main Verkehrsverbund (RMV)
RMV has distinguished itself as an innovative regional transport authority advancing MaaS integration across the Rhein-Main area in Germany. By fostering partnerships with technology companies, start-ups, and local operators, RMV has accelerated the adoption of smart ticketing, real-time data sharing, and integrated mobility platforms. Their RMVall-in project have not only improved user experience but also created a scalable framework for regional MaaS implementation in Europe. RMV’s progressive vision and cross-sector collaboration embody the spirit of the Rising MaaS Star Award.

MaaS Impact Award – Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB)
KTMB has made decisive strides in transforming rail mobility in Malaysia into a more seamless, digital-first experience. Its recently launched “KITS Style SuperApp” combines ticketing, trip-planning, loyalty rewards and payment services in one interface, significantly reducing barriers for commuters and improving service access. By integrating multiple modes and adding a QR-based boarding process, KTMB is enabling faster, more inclusive journeys for users, while laying the foundation for wider MaaS deployment across the region.
