MaaS Alliance and Gaia-X Forge Strategic Partnership to Drive Sustainable Mobility and Data Sovereignty
Brussels, 22/02/2024 – The MaaS Alliance, a global public-private partnership dedicated to advancing Mobility as a Service (MaaS), and Gaia-X, an initiative promoting digital sovereignty through data sharing, have announced a landmark strategic partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at fostering sustainable mobility services and supporting data sovereignty in the mobility ecosystem.
The MaaS Alliance and Gaia-X share a common vision of leveraging data and collaboration to drive the smart and sustainable transition for cities, societies, and industries. Recognising their overlapping interests and mutual goals, the parties have formalised their cooperation to support knowledge-sharing and collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding.

Under the agreement, the Parties commit to establishing a base of mutual collaboration, emphasising knowledge exchange, sustainable mobility transformation, and data-driven innovation. The collaboration will focus on key areas including:
– Exchange of knowledge to enhance the positive impact of mobility within cities, urban areas, and long-distance trips.
– Working together on the realisation of the Mobility Knowledge Loop to foster continuous learning and improvement of mobility services.
– Strategic positioning of the Open Mobility Ecosystem to promote interoperability and seamless integration of mobility solutions.
