Every two years, the European Parking Association (EPA) organises an international congress with more than 500 delegates from 32 countries that deals with parking as an essential component of the urban mobility system and an essential service in European cities. It discusses the perspectives and challenges of stationary traffic in connection with traffic development in the cities of Europe. The 20th EPA Congress, taking place from 12 – 14 September under the theme ‘The EU Green Deal and the Future of Parking – Integrated solutions for Dynamic Urban Management, will be one of the most complete and multidisciplinary events involving operators in the parking industry, national and local public administrations, representatives of European Commissions and Projects, experts in the field of mobility, urban logistics, electrical mobility, the data world, ITS, Apps and much more.
During the two-day scientific programme, renowned scientific experts, politicians and the industry will give presentations on the latest developments in all matters related to parking. On the second day, Tuesday, 13 September, Roelof Hellemans, Secretary-General at the MaaS Alliance, will present the MaaS Alliance vision of connecting parking with the proposition within MaaS in the session on Smart Parking – Smart Mobility: Interoperability, Implementing Standardisation and Digitalisation. “Following the recent MoU signage with the European Parking Association, the MaaS Alliance is pleased to have been invited to this year’s edition of the EPA Congress”, says Roelof Hellemans, MaaS Alliance Secretary-General. “With our growing membership involving key players in the field of smart parking and urban mobility solutions, I am looking forward to discussing the importance of MaaS for cities and the role of MaaS in the context of traffic management and mobility solutions for our citizens”.
