Brussels, Belgium, 3 December, 2025 – As the mobility sector evolves at rapid speed, the MaaS Alliance has taken significant steps to reposition itself for the next decade. Guided by extensive feedback from members and the wider ecosystem, the Alliance has modernised its structure, strengthened its neutrality by removing legacy ties, and opened its governance to better reflect the full public–private landscape.
This renewed direction sets the stage for a stronger, more inclusive MaaS Alliance, one that mirrors the diversity, innovation, and collaborative spirit of today’s mobility ecosystem.
A New Board for a New Chapter
A key part of this transformation is the establishment of a newly elected Board that reflects the diversity, expertise, and forward-looking vision required to push mobility forward. Following an open nomination and election process, the MaaS Alliance is pleased to introduce its new Board of Directors:
President – Jacob Bangsgaard, CEO, EPR
Vice President – Donal Hodgins, Chair, ITS Nationals
Board Members:
Caspar de Jonge, Manager of the Dutch Metropolitan Innovations, Ministry of Infrastructure & Water Works
Elina Immonen, Director of the Transport Services Unit, Networks and Services Department, Finnish Ministry of Transport & Communications
Carlos Acha, Director of Technology and Innovation, EMT Madrid
Thomas Wolf, COO, Hacon
John Nuutinen, CEO, SkedGo
“Mobility is an essential part of our daily lives. As demand continues to grow, we face increasing challenges; however, we also see innovative solutions coming to market. The only way to create a sustainable and efficient mobility sector is through collaboration among stakeholders while keeping user needs at the center. I have been involved in the launch of the MaaS Alliance since its inception in 2014 and have closely followed and supported its activities ever since. This platform represents a significant contribution to making our mobility sector smarter and more sustainable in the future. It is an honor for me to collaborate on developing solutions with the key mobility players worldwide,” Jacob Bangsgaard, CEO, EPR.
Why It’s an Exciting Time to Be a Member
With this strengthened governance and refreshed strategic focus, the Alliance is entering a dynamic chapter. Members will see a more neutral, more representative, and more out-put orientated organisation, one shaped directly by the needs of the ecosystem it serves.
As the industry moves toward greater integration, open collaboration, and shared standards, the MaaS Alliance is uniquely positioned to be a convening force. This new Board marks the beginning of that next phase, setting strong foundations ahead of the formal brand relaunch in 2026.
