On 28 July 2022, the European Commission adopted the decision needed to set up a reformed Expert Group on Urban Mobility (EGUM). The new EU Urban Mobility Framework, adopted on 14 December 2021 as part of the Efficient and Green Mobility Package, states that a reinforced platform for dialogue and the co-creation of actions to implement the new framework will enable stronger engagement by Member States, and improved dialogue with cities, regions and stakeholders on all urban mobility issues.
The previous Member States Expert Group on urban mobility (ref. E03165) will now cease operations.
Membership
The selection procedure for members of the Expert Group varies according to the body concerned:
- Member States have received a direct invitation to nominate representatives.
- Local and regional authorities are invited to respond to a call for expression of interest.
- Other organisations are invited to respond to a public call for applications.
