This project focuses on the facilitation of MaaS via standards interoperability & policy. The “Building Interoperability” revolve around the following points:
Interoperability
Allows the exchange of data using robust and open standards/specifications
Semantics alignment between standards
For the end-user (traveller)
Seamless travel from A to B
Multimodal choices to pick from based on accurate and reliable information
For the Public Authorities (PTA)
Removal of vendors lock-in
Reduce the cost of making data-driven decisions and of mobility management
For the private sector
Lower the barriers to enter a market
Solutions scalability at reasonable costs
More resources on innovation
Current Situation
The main objectives of the project are:
Support interoperability and convergence between existing and upcoming standards and technical specifications used in the context of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS),
Support MaaS stakeholders in their overall and technical comprehension of EU policy and regulations,
Disseminate knowledge relevant to all MaaS stakeholders for them to build reliable mobility for all travellers,
Support the building of an open ecosystem.
Issues to be Solved
Short term
Global overview of existing standards / specifications for mobility services management and planning
Support in choosing the most appropriate standards based on specific use-cases built for public authorities
Long term
Built-in interoperability to facilitate tendering
Representation in the further development of standards / specifications
Added bonus
Bridging the gap between policy mandates and technical implementation on day-to-day basis
Output of Project
The expected outcomes are:
Standardisation
Pledge for interoperability between all mobility modes
