The MaaS Alliance is proud to announce Uber as a member of the Alliance and its Board of Directors. The aim of the co-operation is to provide an alternative to private car usage that is efficient and sustainable to help tackle congestion and other local mobility issues.
Supporting Shared Mobility
MaaS Alliance was created to support the integration of different mobility services to provide a sustainable and affordable alternative to private car usage. Mobile phone apps such as Uber, which allow people to get a ride at the touch of a button, are already used as an alternative to private cars and complement the use of public transport. Uber supports the objectives of the MaaS Alliance by providing an accessible, affordable and on-demand mobility service that globally connects people to the existing public transportation infrastructure.
Marius Macku, Public Policy and Government Relations EU at Uber: “We are looking forward to working with the MaaS Alliance on reducing car use in our cities. Uber is already partnering with cities and public transport providers around the world to support the move towards shared mobility to help reduce congestion, pollution and parking issues.”
Jacob Bangsgaard, ERTICO – ITS Europe, CEO, President of MaaS Alliance: “We warmly welcome Uber to the MaaS Alliance. Shared, on-demand mobility services have already proven to be attractive for people and by partnering we further integrate different players into the mobility ecosystem. The MaaS Alliance provides its members a great platform to jointly design and co-create this new mobility landscape.“
