City of Antwerp welcomes MaaS Alliance at first Plenary of the year

New year, new strategic partnerships, more networking. MaaS Alliance members met in Antwerp for this first plenary meeting of 2020, kindly hosted by the City of Antwerp. The meeting provided a great opportunity to participating members to learn the inspiring approach that the City of Antwerp has adopted to make MaaS a reality.

“We are delighted to meet here in Antwerp, which is one of the current MaaS leaders in Europe. The city has done an exceptional job in facilitating an open and competitive MaaS ecosystem. This is a best practice case worth looking at and we are lucky to hear directly from public and private stakeholders how this all happened”. Said Jacob Bangsgaard, ERTICO’s CEO and MaaS Alliance President.

“I am happy to welcome the MaaS Alliance in Antwerp, together with MaaS players such as Whim, Olympus, Skipr, Tranzer we are working towards my mobility, my freedom. Innovation in services and a free market will lead to MaaS becoming indispensable for urban, regional and international mobility”. Said Koen Kennis, Vice Mayor of the City of Antwerp.

In addition to the insightful presentations from the hosts, the MaaS Alliance members had also a chance to hear some latest news and exchange views with representatives of the European Commission (DG Competition, DG MOVE and DG CONNECT), World Business Council of Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
