ioki, the German mobility solution provider, is set to become the newest member of the MaaS Alliance family, bringing it to a total of 46 organisations, all of which cooperate in order to achieve a vision of seamless, effortless mobility for the end user.

MaaS Alliance proudly welcomes ioki to its network. ioki is a subsidiary company of Deutsche Bahn (German Railways), established just last year. ioki develops advanced demand responsive transport solutions for cities and rural areas and increases their potential  through mobility analytics. At the same time, autonomous driving is an integral part of ioki’s vision. ioki, similarly to the MaaS Alliance works to provide modern, flexible and customized mobility solutions to everyone. Integration with public transportation is vital. ioki aims to complement public transportation by targeting last-mile journeys and creating comfortable and seamless connections to public transport hubs where it is needed.

MaaS Alliance and ioki will work together to develop the mobility of the future, with the customer at the centre, and create services and applications that bring the most benefit to the users’ mobility needs.

The addition of ioki is a significant milestone in the development of the MaaS Alliance. ioki’s strong entrance into the Mobility as a Service market is evidence of transport operators’ clear interest in MaaS and brings big mobility players like Deutsche Bahn into the core of MaaS development. Deutsche Bahn is one of the leading transportation and logistics companies worldwide with a turnover of 42.7 billion Euros in 2017 and 2.075 billion passengers in Germany alone.

The Mobility as a Service (MaaS) Alliance is a public-private partnership creating the foundations for a common approach to MaaS, unlocking the economies of scale needed for successful implementation and take-up of MaaS in Europe and beyond. The main goal is to facilitate a single, open market and full deployment of MaaS services. MaaS Alliance is an international non-profit association established under Belgian law, and bringing together the entire mobility ecosystem, including public authorities, start-ups, operators, and established MaaS offerings.
